What is the census?


The census seeks to collect certain information. How would you answer the following question? (Explain the process you go through in order to answer the following question.)

  1. Well I would look at my parents, I am Puerto Rican and Ecuadorian. I would select other race and print each of them. It is weird because In the USMC I was considered white. I never understood why. It was a subcategory with in white.

  2. I would put other and specify Italian, just because i dont consider myself white, because white seems to mean too much of a veriety of different things and i dont agree no one is "white" and no one is "black."

  3. I'm from Guyana, its located in South America so I'm a Guyanese and its not listed there so I would have to check some other race and then specify what race I am.
