Chinese soon to become the new American?
Since high school I have been hearing how China will take over the world (from friends). Now that I look back at this it may not have been directed the right way but I can see what they were trying to get to. After the readings we did in class I started to think to myself if chinese became the new english and everyone had to learn to speak and write it would people still consider the U.S as American? Will America lose its value if a language of a "minority group" became more popular? Most importantly will we lose our pride? Because I believe thats what keeps the U.S truly separated from everyone else, since it is viewed as really powerful.
