what reason are there still for favoring men over women, in terms of money or opportunities?
Also do you think that it is very easy for a women to make a claim, about an issue like this? or similar?

it is easy for a woman to make a claim like this i think it relates to the whole blacks being turned down so a white person can get a job in the sense that there are it is always easier for the victim to make the claim unless the person is outright more qualified whether male or female.
ReplyDeletethere is definitely more advantage for a man to get a job over a women because of traditional reasons and standards. some being physical attributes others emotional.
ReplyDeleteit is easier for a woman to make this claim because there are men out there, CEO's and bosses who degrade women and look down on them. that is undeniable. that's one of the most common complaints and this can be proven or seen in the sexual harassment statistics.
i feel that society sees men as more superior because its always been that way. for as long as society has been progressing, men have always been on top. whether it is because of their physical traits, or that they are mentally "stronger", i honestly feel that woman will always be a step below the man in regards to salary, opportunities, etc.
ReplyDeletebut then again... it might not because after our country went through slavery, we now have a black president...
so only time will tell.
also- it is easy for women to make this claim because whether it is seen openly or "behind the curtains"- women have all experienced this and many people (men or women) know about this.
Why would a claim like this be so easy for women to make? (She's putting her job on the line. And her future employment in these predominantly male corporations. Is that easy to do?) You should try to explain why you chose to utilize that sort of terminology. What makes something easy? (In the same light, what makes something difficult?) Why are you readily able to dismiss the claims of women and Blacks?
ReplyDeleteWho is more qualified isn't the main point in the article Antonio posted. The issue in question in this article is that men are being treated differently and as a result of those differences, are afforded greater opportunities for advancement at Bank of America.
What's unfortunate about your response is that you are blaming victims for the discriminatory/violent acts that happen to them. Critically analyze what is happening in the article. (From the limited information presented therein.)
The logic you are using is similar to the following two scenarios:
A woman is raped BECAUSE she is wearing something she shouldn't be wearing. She is raped BECAUSE she was asking for it.
A man is killed at 3AM in the morning. WHY was he out at 3AM in the first place. HE was asking for it.
What is not being taken into consideration in the proceeding scenarios?
Well what is not being considered is the neighborhood, becuase if this happened in a bad place then yeah my question is why at 3am are you outside, but in an affluent place I am asking what was important enough for you to get killed over, because the motives would definatly be different.---- Although im pretty sure that's not where you are going?--- Sorry
