Classes Converge!

I don't know how many of you guys will/have/need to take Anthropology with Prof. Tovar (coolest lady ever!!!!!!) But a lot of what she teaches about cultural relativism ties strongly into our class. Cultural relativism is when you judge a culture by its own standards. I fell like if as a country instead of teaching about "the other" in school taught about different cutlers from their own view point it would teach tolerance on a completely different level. I have seen this actually being implemented on the Disney Channel with their Pass the Plate Commercials. There are no judgmental statements being made, and no faces at the things we may not consider appetizing. Do you think if children grew up with more influences like that instead of ones that show their characters making faces at new foods, or strange dress they would have a higher tolerance for others?
